Jane and Shondelle met at NIDA doing a directors course in 2008.  It quickly became apparent that Jane didn't have an acting bone in her body... but Shondelle had ability to spare.  Luckily Jane was pretty good at the directing part and both shared the same sense of humour and "Wahhlaaaa" a partnership was born.  Having worked together on numerous short films and commercial campaigns, they decided to take their stories to the next level.

During a chatty drink, Jane and Shondelle got talking about the changes both noticed in Australian suburbs.  Ageing occupants are slowly being pushed out of their homes by ever rising land tax and urban hipsters with an eye for reinventing the kitch into cool.  The local residents needed a crusader on their side.  They created a super hero among the community. Her name was Nana Smith.

And so... Bent101 was born.

Shondelle, a graduate of The University of Western Sydney and Ensemble Studios has worked in theatre and television for many years, both as a performer, director, writer and choreographer.

Jane is an award winning writer, director and editor.  She was the Creative Director for Network TEN during the Big Brother years, then went on to create numerous award winning short films and successful TV campaigns for both networks and brands.

As for what they think of Bent101:
“We love Bent101. We love the multigenerational tone of it. We feel so lucky to have such a talented, generous, funny group of performers to work with. Creating this show has been an absolute joy,”
